The course provides basic knowledge on the configuration of the SAP ERP and SAP SCM modules as well as on the interaction of the modules in the context of integrated supply chain planning. The following topics are covered: Master Data in the ERP and SCM systems and the associated interface management, the SCM module Supply Network Planning (SNP) for approximate capacity planning and network planning using the Heuristic and Optimizer planning procedures and the SCM module Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP / DS) for production planning and detailed planning of machine allocation.
The course includes system access as well as seven detailed case study exercises (material in English) which are to be worked on by the course participants.
Prior knowledge of SAP is not required. For the topics covered, knowledge of the course Supply Chain Planning is advantageous.
After successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation.

7) Product Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
Detailed course description:
The course consists of seven consecutive practice units, which are to be carried out by the students independently in a university SAP system landscape for a fictive enterprise. The exercise material is in English. The approximate processing time is estimated to be one to two days per practice session.
Unit 1: Preparing Master Data in SAP ERP
In this module the students make changes to the master data of the Global Bike Inc. (GBI) in SAP ERP. These changes are needed to facilitate planning in SAP SCM. At the end, the students do some simple forecasting in SAP ERP.
Unit 2: Integrating ERP and SCM
In this module the students configure the data integration between ERP and SCM. At the end of the section, both master and transactional data have been transferred to SAP SCM from SAP ERP.
Unit 3: Preparing Master Data in SAP SCM
In this module the students prepare additional master data in SAP SCM. Therefore they create an own supply chain model and fill it with relevant information and objects.
Unit 4: Supply Network Planning
In this module the students learn about Supply Network Planning and transactional data. They do some simple forecasting in SAP SCM and review their results at the end.
Unit 5: Supply Network Planning using SNP Heuristic
In this module the students learn about Supply Network Planning Heuristic and its different methods. They will execute several heuristic methods and compare the results and differences.
Unit 6: Supply Network Planning using SNP Optimizer
In this module the students will use the Supply Network Planning Optimizer to find proper solution based on the financial aspect.
Unit 7: Product Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
This case study describes implementation of the production planning process of SNP-Scheduling agreements as part of the Heuristic-based and Optimization-based planning using the detailed scheduling planning board and taking into account maximum vendor capacities when dealing with exceptional cases.
