1. Introduction to Remote Sensing:
   a. Historical evolution and general applications,
   b. Remote Sensing data characteristics,
   c. The resolution concept in Remote Sensing,
   d. Systems and Programs in Remote Sensing: Technological evolution of Digital Elevation Model (DEM) generation, from photogrammetry to RAdio Detection And Ranging (RADAR) and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) technology,
   e. Application to Tropical Hydrogeology and Environmental Engineering.
2. Multispectral images stretching and visualization: Delineation of landscape geomorphological features and land cover (ArcGIS).
3. Multispectral images digital treatment: Filtering, vegetation indices, tasseled cap, digital classification (LEOWorks).
4. LiDAR data processing: noise removal, filtering/classification, point interpolation to DEM and DSM generation, normalization of the point cloud to nDSM generation (Lastools and ArcGIS).

This course is for TropHEE students only. Other students will not be admitted. The course will take place as a block course. Lecturer will be Dario Domingo from the Environmental Sciences Institute of the University of Zaragoza, Spain
