The main topics studied in this course include: Surface tension, capillary waves and other instabilities, wetting phenomena and dynamic contact angle, wall-bound flows in films, drops and rivulets, dynamics of free liquid
films, marangoni flows. The course is focused mainly on the description of the main physical phenomena. However, among the topics are also the beautiful theoretical solutions for the Landau-Levich
problem for dip coating and Plateau - Rayleigh
instability of an infinite cylinder.
