Lehrinhalte
In recent years, several applications of experimental designs have evolved in the social sciences. Amongst others, vignette experiments or factorial design surveys as well as field experimental studies using random assignment of respondents to various versions of a questionnaire are just two examples of this development. In the seminar, we will discuss these and other applications of experimental designs in the social sciences. Using these examples and applications, we will discuss basic features of experimental designs as well as quality indicators of successful studies.

As part of the seminar, we will conduct a small laboratory experiment using both, between-subject design and within-subject design. The manipulation and topic of the experiment will be determined at the begin of the seminar together with the participants. Most likely, we will choose a topic concerning smartphone usage and smartphone navigation.
