Principles of sustainable chemistry, "Green Chemistry & Engineering", 
Evaluation of chemical processes and products, 
new catalytic processes in the chemical production for a higher energy and resources efficiency,
energetic and chemical utilization of renewable resources within the context of conventional fossil resources and value-added chains in the chemical industry,
renewable feedstock: CO2, biomass, esp. carbohydrates (sugar, starch, lignocellulose), fats/oils (oleochemistry) - feedstock chemistry and required technologies & recent innovations

This lecture will be held in English.

Official Course Description
The students gain a basic understanding of the role of chemistry and engineering for a sustainable development.
The student should be enabled to develop strategies for the utilization of renewable resources.
A further aim is to enable the students to know and evaluate the chances and risks of renewable resources in comparison to conventional petrochemical resources and production routes.
