Digitale Lehre
The event will be held in SoSe 2020 as a digital lecture. It will start in week 17, i.e. with the first scheduled lecture on Friday 24 April at 10:45 h.

It is the intention to keep as much as possible the lecture character of the course or to map it into the digital tools.Therefore, an online lecture using the ZOOM tool will be held as initially planned for the lecture. All subscribed students will get a TUCAN system message in due time, indicating the access data for the online lecture. During the lecture, you will have means ande opportunities to interact with the lecturer. Questions and comments can be injected through an online chat. They will be processed and forwarded to the lecturer by a dedicated lecture support staff.

Thoughout the rest of the semester, the online lecture will be held every Friday between 10:45 AND 12:15 using the same online platform ZOOM. Please ignore any room indication in the TUCaN system, since this goes back to the presence lecture planning.

I am looking forward to meeting you in the online lecture !!!

Lehrinhalte
Based on the course „Foundations of Space Systems“, this lecture will introduce into structures and functions of space stations as well as into space operations and utilisation. Typical subsystem functions such as power systems, attitude and orbit control systems, thermal control systems, data handling and communication systems will be presented in a systematic manner, together with the respective implementation in an engineering design. Another focus will be on processes and systems needed to operate and exploit space systems. Special emphasis will be given on conceptual design methods for all key functions in context of early design phases.

On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
[list=1]
[*]Reflect the structure of a space system with the typical break-down into subsystems.
[*]Explain the interaction of system elements at sytem level together with the respective engineering solutions.
[*]Analyse processes and systems needed to operate and exploit space systems.
[*]Design of key subsystems of space systems in early design phases.
