Admission to the digital course only for members of the Research Training Group KRITIS and verified subject-related master candidates in corresponding study programs (e.g. master history, focus on technology, environment, city) after prior registration with: schenk@pg.tu-darmstadt.de.
Registration in TUCaN and on the moodle platform required. Please make sure to register with your student email address.
The course begins in digital form on 6.11.2020. Teaching materials will be provided via the moodle working platform: you will receive a link to download materials for preparing for the sessions a few days in advance. On Fridays, 10-10:45 a.m., there will be a digital meeting via Zoom or BigBlueButton to which you will be invited via moodle or your student email.
Official Course Description
In the predominantly English advanced seminar for members of the Research Training Group KRITIS (or interested candidates at master's level, but only after registration with: schenk@pg.tu-darmstadt.de), key concepts of disaster research will be presented and discussed with special emphasis on their relevance for the study of critical infrastructures. This semester focuses on three thematic blocks: 1. Concepts of historical and social science disaster research, 2. Critical infrastructures in times of pandemics, and 3. Inequality and vulnerability. Guests will set their own accents on aspects of the topic. In the seminar, small contributions to the key topics will be worked out together for the website of the Research Training Group.
