Digital Teaching
The lecture takes place as live lecture in presence, live streaming only in special cases. The lecture will be recorded. The slides and the recordings are provided via the repsective Moodle course.
Lehrinhalte
Principles of sustainable chemistry, "Green Chemistry & Engineering",
Evaluation of chemical processes and products,
new catalytic processes in the chemical production for a higher energy and resources efficiency,
energetic and chemical utilization of renewable resources within the context of conventional fossil resources and value-added chains in the chemical industry,
renewable feedstock: CO2, biomass, esp. carbohydrates (sugar, starch, lignocellulose), fats/oils (oleochemistry) - feedstock chemistry and required technologies & recent innovations
Literature
cf. lecture slides with additional literature recommendations in the moodle course
Voraussetzungen
B.Sc. Chemistry
Official Course Description
The students gain a basic understanding of the role of chemistry and engineering for a sustainable development.
The student should be enabled to develop strategies for the utilization of renewable resources.
A further aim is to enable the students to know and evaluate the chances and risks of renewable resources in comparison to conventional petrochemical resources and production routes.
