The HIGHEST lecture series introduces the process of founding a start-up. The aim of the event is to raise awareness of start-up-relevant and entrepreneurial topics. In particular, innovations and business models are discussed and underpinned by numerous exciting practical examples. The content includes all the tools that are needed for a successful start-up or for entrepreneurial activity in the economy: Idea generation, innovation, startup skills, ecosystem and networking, legal, financing, funding, investors and much more. Numerous guest speakers will be integrated into the lecture, who will report from their experiences, thus guaranteeing a high level of practical relevance.

The HIGHEST lecture series is not only aimed at people interested in founding a company, but also teaches valuable entrepreneurial skills. The importance of entrepreneurial competence in companies is constantly increasing. This competence is not to be considered exclusively as a means to found one's own company, but is essential for students to prepare for a later professional career in all fields and working conditions.

- What is innovation, what is an invention and what are the ways to commercialize one?

- How does an innovation become a business idea? How does a business idea become a company?

- How do I know that I am a founder? What skills and competencies does a founding team need?

- How do I build a company? How do I lead a team?

- Who do I involve and who do I not? How do I get customers? How do I do business with other companies?

- How can I protect my idea or research result and what legal steps do I have to take?

- What financing options, funding programs or support services are there?

- What do I have to pay attention to when approaching financiers and VCs? How do I negotiate conditions skillfully?

- What are positive examples, pioneers or unicorns and what can I learn from them?

Further Grading Information
Prerequisite for the award of CP is proof of regular attendance (proof of participation) and the writing of a reflective result protocol (1 Din A4 page). As part of this report, the students present what they have learned from the course for their own entrepreneurial career. The performance is not graded (pass/fail).
