Lehrinhalte
The students build a bicycle computer for hub dynamos. The bicycle computer is powered exclusively by the dynamo and has neither external energy sources nor an external speed sensor.
In order to solve this problem, students must acquire knowledge of the following points:

Operating behaviour of a hub dynamo (single-phase alternating current machine)

Power electronic circuits for voltage stabilisation

Circuit technology for speed measurement

Microcontroller programming with integration of an LCD display
The bicycle computer is assembled in groups on prefabricated circuit boards. A test stand with an electrically driven bicycle wheel is available for measuring the bicycle dynamo and commissioning the circuit.
