Clay minerals and clays in construction, in the production of ceramic materials, and in various other geological, technical, medical, and pharmaceutical areas of use. In addition, a reference is made to climate research and soil formation (with a focus on the tropics), to groundwater protection, to the prospecting of clay deposits, and to the exploration of hydrocarbons.
