Digital Teaching
Digital course content will be provided via Moodle.

Course Contents
The course deals with strategic decision problems that arise in production and logistics. The focus of the course is on the determination of production capacities, the determination of optimal facility locations and the design of supply chains. As decision problems in these areas are often associated with high investments, supporting the investment decisions with planning models may improve the cost position of the company significantly. The course discusses quantitative planning models that support the decision problems mentioned above. Special attention is also paid to the role human workers play in production and logistics by discussing methods for measuring workload and models for forecasting human learning.

Literature
Will be announced in the course.

Preconditions
Basic knowledge in production planning and control as well as in mathematical optimization will be of help.

Expected Number of Participants
