Course Contents
[b]The lecture[/b] (3 SWS) introduces electrical engineering to all non-EE students:
[b]Basics[/b]: electrical charge, electrical current, voltage, electrical work and power
[b]Direct current[/b]: Ohm’s Law, terms in DC networks, Kirchhoff`s Laws, linear networks, ideal and real sources, superposition, Norton’s and Thevenin’s theorems
[b]Electrical field[/b]: capacitors, electrostatic forces, capacitors in linear networks
[b]Magnetic field[/b]: Lorentz force, Ohm’s Law of the magnetic network, Ampere’s circuital law, ferromagnetism, electromagnetic induction, self inductance, inductors in linear networks, (electro-)magnetic forces
[b]Switching processes[/b]: differential equations, switching-on and –off of RC- and LR-circuits
[b]Alternating current[/b]: voltage generation, definition of average and rms value, phasor calculus, Kirchhoff’s Laws for complex networks, impedances, apparent power, active power and reactive power, filter networks, three-phase current, transformers
[b]Electronics[/b]: principles of semiconduction, semiconductors, integrated circuits
