- the importance of experimental investigations in fluid mechanics
- connection among theory, experiments and numerics
- similarity analysis and the design of experiments
- statistical description of turbulent flow properties and their measurement
- signal and data processing
- evaluation of measuring results including the estimation of errors

The following measuring techniques will be covered: pressure measurements, flow visualization,thermal velocity measurements, optical velocity measurements
