Lehrinhalte
With the development of large laser interferometers like LIGO and Virgo it has become possible to observe astrophysical phenomeca using Gravitational Waves. This has open a new observational window to the Universe. The combined observation of astrophysical events in Gravitational and Electromagnetic waves offers unique oportunities to learn about the dynamiics of astrophysical phenomena as already exemplified by the gravitational wave event GW170817 originating from the merger of two neutron stars.
The purpose of this course is to provide an introduction to the physics necessary to model the emission of electromagnetic and gravitational waves from astrophysical objects. If time allows we will also discuss neutrino emission.
