Course Contents
The aim of this course is to teach students how to structure and write a scientific paper in English that is well-researched, well-argued and cites its sources properly. Each component of a paper/journal article will be covered, i.e. abstract, introduction, methods, results and discussion. Students will practise writing these components concisely and clearly in weekly assignments. Punctuation, common grammar errors, and plagiarism in academic scientific writing will also be covered.

Preconditions
A score of at least 65 on the placement test.

Further Grading Information
Requirement of course completion: students will be required to complete an abstract, a literature review and a short paper (approx. 5 pages) giving an overview/state-of-the-art of a scientific field.
