Digital Teaching
What is "social" about technology? How can we approach technology and bodies of knowledge from a perspective of the social sciences? Science and Technology Studies (STS for short) is concerned with the question of how our knowledge of nature and our technologies are interwoven with social processes. The theoretical and methodological concepts of Science and Technology Studies have been widely received for quite some time and have also found wide acceptance in other disciplines. In this seminar we deal with basic concepts of technology studies and approach the question of how knowledge and technology are produced as social objects and how they are related to social power relations in society. In this seminar we will deal with "classical" texts and basic concepts of technology studies as well as with contemporary and current contributions.
