This is an online course that uses a cloud-based SAP client.
Course Contents
The course consists of seven consecutive practice units the students are supposed to work on by themselves. The language of the course material is English.
Unit 1: Preparing Master Data in SAP ERP
In this module, students apply changes to the master data of the Global Bike Inc. (GBI) in SAP ERP. These changes are required to facilitate planning in SAP SCM. At the end of the module, students prepare some simple forecasts in SAP ERP.
Unit 2: Integrating ERP and SCM
The data integration between ERP and SCM is configured in this unit. At the end, relevant data has been transferred from SAP ERP to SAP SCM.
Unit 3: Preparing Master Data in SAP SCM
In this module, students prepare master data in SAP SCM. An individual supply chain model is created and filled with relevant data objects.
Unit 4: Supply Network Planning
In this unit, Supply Network Planning Module is introduced. Students prepare some simple forecasts in SAP SCM and review the forecast results.
Unit 5: Supply Network Planning using SNP Heuristic
In this module, students learn about Supply Network Planning heuristics. Several heuristics are applied to the data. Afterwards, the results obtained by the heuristics are compared.
Unit 6: Supply Network Planning using SNP Optimizer
In this module, students use the Supply Network Planning Optimizer to find proper solutions under consideration of financial aspects.
Unit 7: Product Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS)
In this last case study unit, a production planning process is carried out under consideration of vendor capacities.
Preconditions
- Basic knowledge in the areas of production planning and supply chain management. Attending the Supply Chain Planning course at the same time is also recommended.
- Registering for the module ("Modul"), the course ("Veranstaltung") and the exam (“Prüfung”) in TUCAN are necessary for course admission.

The course introduces participants into the use of SAP ERP and SAP SCM. It presents important system functionalities required for the creation of production plans in SAP. This course consists of seven self-study units that cover following topics:

[*]Application of heuristics for the planning of Supply Chains.

Prior knowledge of SAP is not required. After successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of participation.
This course is optional (“freiwillige Zusatzleistung”).
This course could be counted for LSCM students as a "project".
