Course Contents
With a projected 9.7 billion earthlings in 2050 and a subsistence minimum of 1,500 kcal per day, the earth's conventional agricultural land would need to grow by about 850 million hectares and generate 60-70% more agricultural products. Alternative land, spaces and methods must be added for food security. Urban Agritecture©? will have to contribute significantly to increasing agricultural production, and an era that resists sustainability and climate change will be ushered in.
To promote Urban Agritecture©?, our design task is to establish an Academy for Agritecture©? at Potsdam.
The Agritecture©? Academy Potsdam will be a center for research, planning and knowledge transfer for the practical implementation of urban Agritecture©?. For the academy, we have selected a plot of land at a site of historical importance for gardening and landscaping in the immediate vicinity of Sanssouci Palace Park at the foot of the Winzerberg (Lenné) and the Winzerhaus (Tower Villa, Hesse).
There will be an excursion to Potsdam and Berlin.
