Course Contents
Source-to-sink-concept; sediment generation (climate, tectonics, source rocks); sediment dispersal (hydraulic considerations, sorting, maturity); diagenesis (compaction, porosity, cements); sandstone classification; provenance concepts and classifications; overview of methods (image analysis, point counting, heavy mineral analysis, single-grain geochemistry) as well as relevant statistics and software.
