Sustainability Reference of the Course Contents
Through constant innovation and improvement, production technology enables goods to be made available at affordable prices, making them accessible to a wide range of people and reducing social inequalities. However, it also contributes significantly to the energy and resource consumption of our society, with negative social and environmental consequences. Therefore, the lecture will not only consider the manufacturing processes from a technical point of view, but also from a holistic sustainability perspective. In addition to the technical description of the processes, methods for process selection according to ecological and economic aspects will be presented and their application demonstrated with examples.
