Course Contents
What is (environmental) studies? Getting to know the environmental studies as an interdisciplinary field and as problem-related sciences. As a broad field, these are presented on different problem areas and topics, such as climate change, water resources, environmental chemistry, environmental policy, and current issues are explained.
 

Official Course Description
The lecture provides an introduction to the environmental studies, their origins, their contents and objects as well as the interrelationships between the different work fields. Among other things, it will deal with scientific fundamentals, global challenges and the concrete situation in Germany as well as human action strategies, such as governmental control options or technical solution concepts.


The exercise accompanying the lecture will include a revision of the various lecture contents. The aim is to deepen the students' understanding of the terms and concepts presented in the lecture.


This course is a basic course of the Bachelor of Science (BSc) Environmental Engineering program and is a basic module of the Environmental Science major.
