The course consists of lectures by experts presenting various important aspects of space propulsion engineering such as engine transients, combustion dynamics, rotating detonation engines, launch vehicles and mission design. The focus will be on the diversity of disciplines and their interaction, all of which are important for successful space transportation systems, thus demonstrating the multidisciplinarity of this field.
The lectures will be given by internal and external experts in the form of online presentations. A focus will be on the technical challenges of space propulsion. After each lecture, specific questions can be discussed with the speakers. By talking to experts from the field, students will come into contact with current technical issues and how they are dealt with in industry, authorities and research institutions.
