Official Course Description
The integrated course deals with the right to share opportunities and risks, rights and duties in cyber space. German and European data protection rights are dealt with in the practice course by means of case studies (so-called ‚pilots‘). In additon to the focus on legal methodology and dogmatics, an introduction to the Cyberlaw kanon with demonstrators as acoustic observation of flats, online searching, data retention, IT security and drone law is given. Ideally, the students develop a law culture which allows them to treat legislative texts (norms, judgments, adminstrative decisions) in a confident, authentic and current manner and to implement this right also in IT (privacy as safety goal in information technology).
