The module will provide knowledge and training on:

[*]microbial isotope fractionation principles and abiotic isotope effects in aquatic systems,
[*]the interlinkages of aquatic matter cycles (C, N, S) in the light of associated isotope fractionations,
[*]the isotope-based identification and quantification of aquatic microbial turnover processes as well as the recognition of process superimpositions,
[*]the impact of hydrological extremes on isotope fractionation pattern,
[*]the application of stable isotope tracers in the frame of monitored and enhanced natural contaminant degradation concepts, and
[*]stakeholder perceptions on practical applications of isotope-based technologies for water quality management.
