Current publications in the field of Polymer Reaction Engineering
Official Course Description
The students have an overview of fundamentals and current work in the field of polymer reaction engineering. This includes methods of kinetic investigations, modelling techniques for the description of polymerisations on a laboratory and technical scale and the application of the modelling of polymerisation reactions in technical practice. They thus have the prerequisites for successful work in companies that deal with the design or operation of commercial polymer plants. Here, the often international context in which these companies operate must be taken into account and that in the Anglo-Saxon region, these fields of work are taught with the independent field of Polymer Reaction Engineering.
The students are able to describe polymerisation processes in a modelling manner. This includes both experiments on a laboratory scale, where the focus is on the control of the polymer microstructure through the reaction conditions, and the description of technical reactors. Here, the students have learned the basic tools, modelling techniques and the methodology of application.
