KOMMEN UND GEHEN
 
Trotz zunehmender Dichte sind Friedhöfe weiterhin grüne Oasen in der Stadt, Exklaven außerhalb der Hektik des Alltags. Beispielhaft soll in dichter städtischer Lage untersucht werden diese neu nicht als Ort des Abschieds und Trauer, sondern als Ort des Lebens zu denken.
 
Eine zur Einkehr und Besinnung einladende interreligiöse Kapelle wird ergänzt durch eine weitere Nutzung, die den Abschied nicht als Ende, sondern Teil des Lebens erfahrbar macht. Gesucht ist ein architektonischer Dialog, der durch feinsinnige Schnittstellen, räumliche Übergänge und architektonische Zwischenräume gekennzeichnet ist und die Transformation des Ortes erfahrbar macht. Konzeptionell und entwerfend ist eine sinnfällige, sinnstiftende und Anmut erzeugende Raumgefüge mit eigenständigen und charaktervollen Atmosphären zu entwickeln.
 
Aus der Trias – Typus, Topos, Tektonik – der Besonderheit des Ortes, den funktionalen Anforderungen und der Logik der Konstruktion ist eine originäre Gestalt zu entwickeln, die mehr ist als nur Form. Über die räumliche Disposition und die Materialisierung hinaus soll ein Verständnis für konstruktive Fügungen gelehrt und zur Umsetzung architektonischer Absichten befähigt werden. Um die Wechselwirkung zwischen dem Detail und dem Ganzen zu erkennen wird der Entwurf in der Bearbeitung vertieft und die Konstruktion bis zum Ausbau in den Maßstab 1:1 detailliert.

COME AND GO
 
Despite increasing density, cemeteries are still green oases in the city, enclaves outside the hustle and bustle of everyday life. In the studio we try to rethink a cemetery in a dense urban setting not as a place of farewell and mourning, but as a place of life.
 
An interfaith chapel that invites contemplation and reflection will be complemented by a further use that makes it possible to experience farewell not as an end, but as part of life. An architectural dialogue is sought that is characterized by subtle interfaces, spatial transitions and architectural interstices and makes the transformation of the site tangible. Conceptually and in terms of design, the aim is to develop a meaningful, meaningful and graceful spatial structure with independent and characterful atmospheres.
 
From the triad - type, topos, tectonics - of the particularity of the location, the functional requirements and the logic of the construction, an original form is to be developed that is more than just form. Beyond the spatial disposition and materialisation, the aim is to teach an understanding of constructive joints and to enable the implementation of architectural intentions. In order to recognise the interaction between the detail and the whole, the design is worked on in greater depth and the construction is detailed up to the 1:1 scale.
