Countless quarries used to shape the landscape and the surrounding villages. Natural stone played a key role in shaping architecture until industrial building materials changed global building culture. Today, load-bearing masonry made of natural stone can contribute to the decarbonization of the construction sector, but the material's properties also offer versatile design potential. We design a contemporary stone house that interweaves with the context through the use of local materials.
