Official Course Description
The lecture deals in detail with the dynamic effects of “wind”. On the one hand, it is taught how buildings, especially high-rise buildings, are designed for wind loads; on the other hand, another part of the module deals with the design of offshore and onshore wind power plants.
In addition, wind-induced vibrations of cables (e.g. of guyed masts or suspension bridges) will be dealt with.
This module is always offered in the second half of the semester.
Sustainability Reference of the Course Contents
One focus of this course is the dynamic analysis of wind turbines. These play a key role in the context of the urgently needed energy transformation towards renewable energies.
