Digital Teaching
The course “Ausgewählte Kapitel aus dem Verbund- und Leichtbau” is held in an inverted classroom format (ICM). In addition to independent preparation for the classroom sessions with the help of an online wiki, students choose topics independently in groups, for which they create their own wiki page during the semester.
Course Contents
Steel-Concrete composite elements will be covered on the basis of the lecture
"Steel Construction III". Special emphasis is layed
on:
- shear connection
- deflections, creep and shrinkage
- design for fire
- connections
- composite slabs
Furthermore composite elements that are made of steel and other materials
will be introduced:
- Sandwichelements with polyurethan-foam or mineral wool,
Detailing and connections will be also covered, as heat-, sound- and
fire-insulation of these building products.
Literature
R. Koschade: Die Sandwichbauweise. Ernst & Sohn, Berlin 2000
H. Bode: Euro-Verbundbau. Werner-Verlag, Düsseldorf 1998
Preconditions
Steel Construction III
Sustainability Reference of the Course Contents
The course “Ausgewählte Kapitel aus dem Verbund- und Leichtbau” teaches the principles of innovative composite and lightweight construction methods. Students learn how to use building materials efficiently and how to optimize their use to save materials in order to develop sustainable and future-proof construction methods. In the inverted classroom model, they can independently select topics in groups, which specifically promotes the exchange of information on the latest developments in the construction industry, in particular on sustainable building materials and construction methods.
