Official Course Description
This block seminar offers the opportunity to engage intensively with discrimination and, in particular, anti-Semitism on TikTok.
Digital culture is changing traditional forms of communication, also transforming power relations. Through networking mechanisms, autonomously generated content, and automated filters, undesirable content, disinformation, and manipulative content can be endlessly reproduced and shared, and in the worst case, normalized in this way.
The aim of the block seminar is to raise awareness of anti-Semitism on social media platforms, promote sensitivity to discriminatory content in digital spaces, and analyze it in the historical context of digital media development.
