Taking Rob Nixon's publication 'Slow Violence and the Environmentalism of the Poor' as a starting point, this course examines specific processes of environmental violence and resistance in German history. Within this investigation, the course explores fundamental questions of property, power relations, and capitalist modes of extraction, resulting in transformed and exploited landscapes that serve as sacrifice zones. 

This course aims to provide a holistic understanding of environmental conditions and to explore tools for critical spatial interventions that address environmental issues across multiple scales and contexts.
