Lehrinhalte
The course explores the complex relationships and the natural consequences of anthropogenic intervention, the incurrence, and impact of environmental problems and their solutions from technical and disciplinary perspectives. Therefore, the theoretical and methodological approaches, as well as its intrinsic relationships are also exposed. The scientific and technical problem solving strategies, and the social context in which they are embedded, are fully integrated to the aims at Technical University of Darmstadt. Moreover, the understanding of the professional field of Environmental Engineering will enable graduates to an improved, and a larger practice of competence, by addressing the objectives, content and working methods of other disciplines. The procedure consists of the following steps:
The problem oriented approach, i.e. the thematic focus of all events at field of the incurrence of environmental problems to environmental protection strategies. The principle of “interdisciplinary enhancement” of the student’s own major field of study through emphasis in environmental science that defines the studies properly. The linkage and use of knowledge acquired from the environmental sciences and professional studies, and the integration of the acquisition of key competencies in the major field of study material events.
