Additional Information
FOR PLANNING PURPOSES WE REQUEST SIGNING UP WITH TUCAN BETWEEN March 01st AND April 06th, noon.

Students submitting their request for participation after April 06 may participate in the lectures, but they probably cannot be admitted to the laboratory experiments.

If you want to attend the lectures/presentations only, please sign up via TUCaN and notifiy Professor Enders separately by e-mail (enders@ikp.tu-darmstadt.de or joachim.enders@tu-darmstadt.de) that no laboratory participation is foreseen.

If you need the participation in the lab class only, but do not need to participate in the lectures, please sign up with TUCaN and contact Prof. Enders in addition, as well.
Risk Assessment

Visiting closed room and lecture halls with large number of participants may stimulate fatigue. We ask you to open doors and (where available) windows during the breaks. To take environmental issues into consideration, excessive heat loss is to be avoided in heated rooms when venting.

Be advised that mainaining a monotonous, restricted posture (sitting) should be avoided over extended periods of time.  Please use the breaks for your personal mobilization.

Also take care of an adaequate seating position when taking notes or when using electronic devices because in lecture halls the recommendations of the workplace guidelines may not be guaranteed.

The lecture hall, in which the lecture will be held, is equipped with stairs.  Please note possible tripping hazards.  Due to safety reasons a lecture of laboratory class cannot start as long as stairs, flights, or escape routes are blocked.

For the case of a possible evacuation (fire, smoke, threat, emergency situations, etc.), please inform yourself about the posted evacuation plans.  Follow the signs to the emergency exits.  Der meeting point in case of a fire is located at Kantplatz.

Should you become aware of an emergency situation (fire, smoke, threat, etc.), please notify teaching personnel immediately.

Laboratory classes require the use of scientific electric and electronic devices.  Please use your knowledge and training as well as the advise of the tutor when operating scientific equipment and follow the directions of teaching personnel.

Sustainability Reference of the Course Contents
Lectures, presentation, and laboratory experiments relate to techniques and methods for the description, use, and development of particle accelerators.  Various components of accelerators are very energy-intensive.  Reference is made to this energy demand - and where applicable also to developments towards minimizing it.
