„Saudade de Lisboa“
 
The project 'Saudade de Lisboa' is dealing with the current housing situation in the Portuguese capital Lisbon.
The city's development towards tourism in recent decades is increasingly reflected in the residential structures in the city center. The local population is being pushed out of the city by price increases, dilapidation and the increase in holiday homes.
 
The design task is placed in one of the oldest districts of Lisbon, Bairro Alto. Here too, the effects of urban policy are evident architecturally and socially.
A residential complex is to be designed on an inner-city plot that will offer a new home to marginalized groups who can no longer afford the rents in the city center. As part of the design, we look at traditional living culture and look for a design approach that not only fits in, but can provide added value for the city's residents.
 
A 4-day excursion to Lisbon and the surrounding area will take place during the draft.
