1. Band structure theory, bandstructure of GaAs, Ge and Si, bandgap engineering,
technology and epitaxy, density of states, low-dimensioanl structures
2. Statistics, concept of Fermi energy and carrier densities
3. Non-equilibrium processes, surfaces, field effect, current in semiconductors,
quasi-Fermi levels, illuminated semiconductors
4. Recombination, transport, scattering processes
5. Optical properties
6. Semiconductor devices, pn junctions, photodiodes, solar cells

Pre-Diploma knowledge in electrodynamics, optics and quantum mechanics
