“Mission Control DA”

Space exploration—a profound philosophical pursuit that has fascinated humanity for centuries. It embodies the relentless human drive to explore the unknown and push the boundaries of knowledge. In today’s world, often marked by challenges and conflicts, space travel offers a shift in perspective that transcends national and cultural borders. It reminds us that we are part of a greater whole—the universe.

As part of this design task, a visitor center for the European Space Agency ESA/ESOC in Darmstadt is to be developed. The goal is to create an inspiring space that showcases the fascination of space exploration and highlights the work of ESA. ESA/ESOC serves as the central control and operations hub, responsible for monitoring and managing satellite missions. The visitor center should function as both an informative and immersive experience for the public while also providing a platform for education and research.
